The latest set of figures from The Nationwide building society showed a surprise rise in house prices. However the consensus among property professionals nationally is that house prices are continuing to rise only due to a lack of properties coming to the market.
House prices fell nationally according to the Nationwide three months in a row between March and May.
That has not been the picture locally where prices have remained steady, however, it certainly feels like they may have peaked for the year.
The lack of supply is most keenly demonstrated on Trafalgar Road East and Trafalgar Road West on Gorleston. Usually these roads are awash with for sale and sold boards. There is approx. 150 houses on these roads combined. For weeks now there hasn’t been a for sale board on either! This demonstrates the lack of property stock and houses for sale.
