It won’t surprise readers to know that the changes in stamp duty for those not buying primary residences caused a huge surge in buy to let lending.
March 2016 was 142% up on March 2015. February 2015 was unusually high too.
It will be interesting to see how the higher stamp duty brackets for investors feeds through in to lending figures for buy to let as the year moves on. These figures are always released a good few weeks after the end of the period so watch this space for updates!
